CHAT PROMOVIDO

Para a minha felicidade, tive
a oportunidade de participar de um chat com a própria Nana
Visitor, organizado por algumas fãs dela dos EUA. Nana gentilmente
cedeu parte de seu intervalo de descanso entre duas apresentações
de Chicago para falar com os fãs. O chat não foi divulgado,
e só sabiam as pessoas que fazem parte do fã-clube
dela. Isso torna o chat muito melhor para quem participa, afinal
poderá ver suas perguntas sendo respondidas mais rápido
do que imagina. Meu companheiro de edição do Basenews
que o diga. Ele também participou e foi responsável
pela maioria das perguntas. Eu cheguei em casa atrasada, e por isso
não tive tempo de me preparar psicologicamente. A única
coisa que consegui foi ficar na frente do computador completamente
paralizada, ou como dizem os fãs da Nana, eu fiquei "Nanatized"!!
Consegui somente mandar uma mensagem para ela, daquelas bem bregas,
que alguns fãs conseguem fazer, quando estão paralizados
diante de seu ídolo!!!
Há alguns erros de datilografia, pois a Mirrani (a garota
que estava digitando pra Nana) tentou digitar o mais rápido
possível, para não se perder tempo. Eu corrigi alguns,
mas com certeza ainda há muitos. O chat foi moderado, tendo
sido aberto somente em duas ocasiões, uma no início,
e outra no meio, quando Nana fez uma pergunta para todos.

Nana_V: I've seen Charlete Dembouise .

Mirrani: You recently said you'd like to audition for the part of
Velma, to be able to switch back and forth in the roles. Did you get
to do this. Were the producers receptive to this? how would you play
velma as opposed to the others who have played this character.
Nana_V: I don;'t think that I'd play her differently other thant the
fact that she's coming through my filter. And no, I haven't gotten
a chance yet. They stupbornly see me as Roxie. Can you beeve that
they don't think I'm edgy enought
Nana_V: They need to see dark angel
Mirrani: When you do the chat with Nana would you ask her if she's
doing Broadway
Mirrani: in Bryant Park on the 16th of Aug? They have Chicago listed
for that day.
Mirrani: Just in case I can get up there. (If she is let's hope her

Nana_V: No, I haven't heard about it.
Mirrani: Nana you mentioned once that you(or your agent) were called
"out of the blue" by the CHICAGO people and asked to audition. Were
you ever told how your name came up, since you had not initiated the
audition request? And, what was you initial reaction upon learning
of their request for you to audition? -Sue
Nana_V: I was excited I 'd seen the show and I thought I'd be right
for it.
Mirrani: What has been your thought process in crafting this wonderful
prelude to
Mirrani: Roxie? * Mirrani oopses again
Mirrani: Dern Nana's got it together... :) Hang on , I'm chopping
up stuff...
Mirrani: Next question.
Mirrani: In MY ONE AND ONLY what made you stand out was your "dancing"
BUT more then that even was the ACTING you were doing even then "thru"
the dancing.
Nana_V: My mentor was my mother.
Nana_V: She started when I was 14 teling me how to be on stage.
Mirrani: Who musically (TOP THREE) instrumentalist or vocalist would
you most like to see in concert? And have you? *
Mirrani is letting Nana tyope a second. :)
Nana_V: shirley horn, twice Don Pullen, none and Chopin
Mirrani: What do you hope to be doing professionally three years from
now?
Nana_V: Working
Mirrani: Is there any show currently on Broadway you would like to
audition for? Have you? Will you?
Nana_V: I'd like to do cabbarett
Nana_V: And it depends on how long it runs.
Mirrani: Would you consider doing a straight play on Broadway or off?
They really need "great" actors.
Nana_V: I'd love to do a play.
Mirrani: Do you have any opinion on the idea that we all have a personal
fate or predestiny to follow in our lives?
Nana_V: Yes, I believe that's true
Mirrani: Do you have any opinion on the possibility of having lived
previous lives, as in reincarnation?
Nana_V: Let's just say it doesn't seem possible.
Nana_V: .. That this is it
Mirrani: Question: as an understudy what did you find the hardest
part to be?
Nana_V: The short notice.
Nana_V: And being underrehersed
Mirrani: Hey, Nana!!! Would you come to a Brazilian Convention if
you received an invitation?
Nana_V: Yes, Double yes
Mirrani: How about Dragon Con?
Nana_V: Yes.
Mirrani: Have you ever thought about writing a DS9 like Andie Robbinson
and Armin Shimmerman?
Nana_V: I'll write some day, but not DS9 novel I don't think

Nana_V: I'd probably write about my life in a way that it might illuminate
things for other women

Mirrani: What about movies? Are you interested in doing movies? If
so, what kind?
Nana_V: It would be the part that would make the difference for me,
I don't care if they're small, but they have to be juicy and I'm not
taking off my clothes.
Nana_V: I've never found the art in that.
Mirrani: Did the cart-wheel fanatics get what they want?
Nana_V: No, I stopped working on it when I heard about that Call me
a rebble
Mirrani: Movies! Has she seen "Bread and Tulips"? Wonderful Italian
movie... :)
Nana_V: No, I haven't. I'll go
Mirrani: And... would you do a DS9 movie? I don't think it's possible,
but one never knows...
Nana_V: Yes I would, but I don't think it's possible either
Nana_V: But I'd be commanding, wouldn't I. I couldn't resist.
Mirrani: Did you read the "Avatar" books? Shows Kira commanding DS9...
Nana_V: No, I'm just hearing about it and I'm getting upset.
* Mirrani kinda asked a bit of the same thing.
Mirrani: I'm explaining the plot.
Mirrani: Why?
Nana_V: Sounds like I've lost power and spirituality
Mirrani: And how's Sid? I watched him on "Vertical Limit"... is he
going to make another movie soon?
Nana_V: I think he's fine I think he's happy. And I think he's going
to be directing films soon.
Mirrani: Send on more. :)
Mirrani: That would be great. And what about you? Some new projects
on the near future?
Nana_V: You'll see me in the first ep of Dark Angel. But after that
I don't know.
Nana_V: Ah the actor's life.
Mirrani: I'm certain you'll do great! Any messages for your Brazilian
fans?
Nana_V: Yes, I have a real desire to visit you there. I've been talking
about Brazil for the last couple months and usually that's a prelude
to going somewhere.
* Mirrani asks about Australia for wendy. :)
Nana_V: I need to know that I'm off for a while.
Nana_V: My ears, you know.
Mirrani: Have you taken any of the younger cast members under your
wing, as a mentor of sorts?
Nana_V: You mean here, in Chicago?
Mirrani: yeah . . . Chicago or in any show
Nana_V: In Dark Angel I really enjoyed talking to Jessica
Mirrani: Did Marina Sirtis have any comments on "Chicago"? "I'm sensing
Velma is hiding something?"
Nana_V: Marina loved the show and was so sweet to me about my performance.
I was so surprised to see her.
Mirrani: I hope that you come soon! Let us know, of course!
Mirrani: *Chapel* yeah . . . Chicago or in any show
Mirrani: Uh, that would be Brazil...
Nana_V: Wouldn't Marina make a good Velma
Mirrani: You and the others members of DS9 cast are still in contact?
Nana_V: Well I occasionally talk to Sid and I'm gonna see Rene in
Vegas
Mirrani: Are you going to work with Rene in vegas?
Nana_V: We are, we're doing Love letters..
Mirrani: We are always asking Nana questions. Does she have any questions
for/about us?
Nana_V: Yeah, when are you getting married?
Mirrani: And that's for Georg and Sandra, Not Mirrani and Shauna.
Mirrani: We send her an invitation...
Nana_V: Yippie
Mirrani: What's the worst question that someone asked you in a chat,
convention or interview?
Nana_V: It's one of those things that you forget the minute you can.
Mirrani: How about Crossing over, They gonna call you back that you
know? That'd be killer.
Nana_V: No, I heard that he had trouble with some celebrity and I
don't know what it's about.
Mirrani: Have you any regrets from your experience on DS9?
Nana_V: The only hard thing about the show were the hours.
Nana_V: There were Nights at three in the morning that I did fall
asleep at the wheel... That's pretty scary
Nana_V: We lost a crew member that way.
Nana_V: Are any of you going to be there in Vegas
Mirrani: Sandra tries to win a trip to Vegas in a lottery
Mirrani: And the make up? Is it itchy? Kira's make up, of course
Nana_V: Yes, it's itchy and hot but it's nothing like being a Ferengi,
which they tried to make me do for like 10 minutes... As soon as they
put the butt head on I panicked
Mirrani: Nana! I thought in thousands of questions, but I guess you
answer all of then already, thousand of times. Instead of that, I'm
just writing to say that I admire your work profoundly. I wish you
all the best in our life and carrer. To see you working is the best
gift you can give me, and my smile is the best gift I can give you
:) !!

Nana_V: Awh, that's sweet
Mirrani: Wendy plans to win the lottery
Nana_V: How can you win the lottery Wendy when I'm winning it?
Mirrani: Judy will have to go to the casino
Mirrani: I guess the Cardassian Make up that you wear on second skin
was the worst of all...
Nana_V: I got the worst panic attack in that makeup I started ripping
it off in the twentieth hour.
Nana_V: And I told the director We're done for the night.
Nana_V: he said no we're not I said yes we are and started ripping
off the neck pieces.
Nana_V: We were done.
Mirrani: Wend y can win the Australian lottery, Nana in the US, and
I should try in Germany - I'd give some to the SandraGeorg being,
of course ;)
Nana_V: Okay, that sounds good.
Mirrani: I'm claustrophobic myself, so I know the feeling... And Dark
Angel? Did you enjoy being on a new sci fi show?
Nana_V: I thought the first season was very edgy and interesting.
I enjoyed it a lot.
Nana_V: I had a lot of freedom.
Mirrani: Where're trying to win here on Brazil to, so we can bring
nana here!

Mirrani: Judy asks about the extension for Chicago
Nana_V: I know for sure that I'll be here til like October 3rd for
sure.
Nana_V: Past that I don't know yet.
Mirrani: It's true that Madame X are going to die on the show?
Nana_V: Oh yes, not only am I shot but I'm burned and they find my
ID in a pile of ashes I hear...
Nana_V: Where in Brazil is Nando..
Mirrani: Me wonders of Mariana as well...
Mirrani: but no one ever really dies in Sci Fi
Nana_V: Maybe my DNA is in a bottle in the back.
Mirrani: Oh... that's sad... I enjoy your work on the show... reminds
me of the Intendant...

Mirrani: Mariana and I are from the same city: Campinas, SP.

Nana_V: No, I wish I did.
Nana_V: But Djangogoes to a Lycee hopefuly he'll be bi-lingual
Mirrani: Flying, just an hour... by car, six hours... it's close to
São Paulo
Mirrani: Don't teach then Portuguese... it's really difficult to learn...
Nana_V: I believe it, but it's such a beautiful language

Mirrani: Have you read Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and are you curious
about the movie coming out?
Nana_V: Yes I am curious I read the books so many years ago
Nana_V: I've forgotten the main points, but I think the movie should
be enchanting.
* Mirrani notes that we're going to have to do this again someday,
just in case she doesn't get to say that before we say goodbye. :)
Mirrani: One final word for you Nana: I'm a huge fan of you, and it's
a great emotion to be here, and to talk to you. You're such a great
person for being here! Maybe someday we can meet each other. I wish
you only the best!
Nana_V: I'd love to meet you. I'd be great if it happens in Brazil.
Mirrani: Or, as we say in Portuguese: Te adoro, tudo de bom, e adeus!
